enpact is a Berlin-headquartered internationally operating non-profit organization empowering entrepreneurship, ecosystems, and international cooperation.

enpact is one of the world leaders in the cultivation of startup ecosystems as a means to promote international cooperation and development. Through a variety of products and services, enpact supports founders and startups in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The goal is to create a global network of startup ecosystems that facilitates the exchange of ideas, solutions, and support.

In 2020, we grew from 25 people to 50+ with local teams in Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico and the core team in Germany. We are operating more like a startup than a traditional NGO using OKRs, agile project management methodologies, and platforms to run our operations across world regions. Team size and regional scope requires us to make the step for hiring our first full-time dedicated Human Resource Manager.

HR Manager m/w/d

(full-time position, 40 hours per week, based in Berlin)

We are currently seeking an experienced human resources specialist. S/he is a natural people-oriented person and very passionate about recruiting, developing, and maintaining talent. Our ideal candidate will be responsible and reliable, and willing to regularly contribute to making our company a better place to work. S/he should be highly efficient, organized, and approachable. Your responsibilities

  • Ability to help develop, implement, support, and review all HR related initiatives, policies, procedures, and systems of our growing international NGO
  • Implement, facilitate and manage people development programs and HR procedures, including feedback and performance reviews, engagement, talent reviews, career development and training programs
  • Leadership and instructional aptitudes needed to provide training and oversight on policies and procedures
  • Continued involvement in and refinement of our recruitment process, including generating job descriptions, posting advertisements, and managing the hiring process
  • Be a strategic advisor to the managing directors and drive our people development strategy to meet organizational objectives
  • Design and cultivation of our internal training and development programs
  • Analyze trends and use data to help develop people and influence change to make teams more effective
  • Enhancement of the performance evaluation processes of an international NGO
  • Enhancement of the compensation packages & salary bands of an internationally operating NGO
  • Composure and confidentiality required to handle disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Administrative duties, including upkeep of employee records
  • Compliance with all policies and legal requirements
  • Perceptive nature, careful monitoring of working conditions to ensure legal compliance


Requirements and Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business administration or relevant field
  • Excellent English language skills, German language skills are an asset
  • Successful work experience as a Human Resources Specialist, officer, administrator or other HR position
  • Strong working knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g. pay and benefits, recruitment, training, and development)
  • Comfortable with executing a full range of HR duties – from high-level strategy to program design, to problem-solving, to execution
  • Commitment to staying current on the understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures, especially in Germany
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the G-Suite. Knowledge of Asana, Podio, Scrum are a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making
  • Strength of character, ethics, and commitment, and reliability
  • Knowledge of behavioral psychology, personality tests, and their application
