International Mentoring 2020: Apply now!

We’re excited to announce the launch a special edition of our mentoring program, dedicated to supporting high potential technology businesses in scaling and creating strategic international partnerships in Europe and Africa. It is an initiative by enpact under the Strategic Partnership Digital Africa (SPDA), funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and coordinated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

About the program

This is an 8-month mentoring program designed for high potential technology businesses looking to scale their business, create global partnerships, and explore new markets. The call is open for businesses in Europe, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa.

The program offers coaching and mentoring for founders by International Mentors to strengthen their business model, growth strategy, roadmap, international network and partnerships. 15 companies will be selected to participate in the programme, which will include:

– A project kick-off day (August 2020)
– A personal mentor over 8 months
– Two deep-dive mentoring bootcamps: Virtually & In-Person
– Individual mentor visits to participants on-site
– Interactive workshop sessions by select experts
– Peer-to-peer facilitated workshop sessions
– Networking-focused events/sessions

How do you benefit from the program?

– Unique horizontal and vertical learning and networking with experienced founders, both in your cohort as well as your mentors – from entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs

– Scale-up support tailored to fit your business needs
– Two deep dive bootcamps with many innovative formats around mentoring & expert workshops
– On the ground personal visit of your mentor to your local hub
– The development and implementation of a clear roadmap for the period of the mentoring
– Ongoing-mentoring over the course of the duration of the program
– Sharing of best practices with relevant partners and stakeholders from the Berlin ecosystem
– Becoming an alumnus of a global network of entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, investors & innovators and creating peer-to-peer relations with them

Who can apply? Eligible companies need to have:

– Strong technology component
– Focus on women in tech or be women-led
– Scalable products with international growth potential
– Solid business model with existing sales, clients, partners, audience and ongoing revenue
– Readiness to benefit from international partnerships and expansion
– Able to commit to all in-person & online sessions throughout the 8-month program
– Based in Europe or the following African countries (Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa.)

What is the deal?

– All travel expenses (to both Germany & Egypt) including visa, flights, accommodation, and catering are covered
– Access to experienced mentors and experts; a life-long community
– No equity taken
– Participation Fee: 650 Euros

Timeline

Application is open until July 5th, 2020. You can find the full timeline here. However, due to recent events with the COVID-19 outbreak, there might be some changes to program timeline and structure for safety & well-being of participants, in addition to providing more focus throughout the program on how businesses can manage during the outbreak.
