The Tourism Recovery Programme was launched in August 2021 to support 315 businesses across Egypt, Mexico, South Africa and Kenya to take the first step on the path of recovery from the pandemic and its economic fallout.
In January 2022, the programme was expanded to provide support for 100 tourism businesses in Tunisia. Your dedicated support will guide them through the unique challenges their business is facing. Over the course of 3 months, you will participate in monthly sessions and regular check-ins with the entrepreneurs.

How does it work?
You will be matched with 1 businesses from the Empowering Entrepreneurship Initiative community, based on the following parameters:
- Set of professional skills & areas of expertise
- Business experience
- Language skills
- Regional and cultural experience
From April 2022 to June 2022, you will have a monthly dedicated session with your mentee along with 3 check-ins throughout the month using your preferred format of communication (i.e. texts, calls, video conferencing).
Checklist: How do I know if I qualify to become a mentor?
☑ I am able to dedicate 4 hours in total per month to my mentee from April 2022 to June 2022
☑ I have 3-7 years of general working experience OR experience as a business coach/consultant
☑ I consider myself a good listener
☑ I believe in bridging differences with empathy and inclusive communication
☑ I have certain experience with pivoting and adapting in my career and/or my business
☑ I have extensive experience in a technical field (Digital marketing, financial management, business development) OR exceptional soft skills (i.e. communications, leadership) that I can share with others
Please note that:
- For this programme, Arabic and/or French language skills are a plus but not required.
- Prior experience in mentoring is NOT required
- Prior experience in the tourism sector is NOT required
