CiviConnectors is creating a support infrastructure for innovative ideas in the Egyptian CivicTech sector.
The CiviConnectors program is building a support infrastructure for innovative ideas in the Egyptian CivicTech sector. The goal is to improve quality of life and access to public interest services through citizen-oriented innovative solutions, contributing to sustainable development.
The first component is to build a collaborative network of stakeholders across all levels in the tech ecosystem that encompasses startups, technology experts, academics, corporate professionals and public sector representatives that are committed to improving the quality of life for Egyptian citizens.
The second component is to provide direct financial support, training, mentoring, and market access to tech-enabled startups to develop citizen-centric solutions that can enhance the engagement of Egyptian citizens with digital public services and create a seamless experience.
The program comprises two stages:
- Stage 1: Idea competition
15 teams of growing startups, business founders, and innovators will be selected from the received applications to participate in a nationwide idea competition. The Idea Competition is a one-day event planned to take place in Cairo. To perfect their presentations, the selected teams will attend a virtual bootcamp planned that comprises a pitching session along with a virtual open discussion with industry experts about the opportunities for development and the latest trends in health tech. - Stage 2: Six-month incubator
Through the idea competition, 6 teams will be selected to join a 6-month incubator where each business founder will receive direct financial support of EUR 600 per month, along with dedicated mentoring, a comprehensive training program, and access to fixed workstations in the enpact hub in Zamalek over the course of the program.
