Out of over 300 applicants, 30 startups were selected for the first edition of our International Mentoring program in East Africa. The participating entrepreneurs were from Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda along with 8 entrepreneurs from Europe.

Throughout the program, the 30 entrepreneurs attended two bootcamps (Germany, Kenya) and were matched with a designated mentor who followed up on their development throughout the program with regular mentoring sessions. The designated mentors then visited the startups in their local hubs and headquarters to facilitate learning about the process on the ground and coach their teams.

As always, the bootcamps were intense; filled with workshops, mentoring sessions, speed mentoring, pitch training and sessions that encourage and foster peer-to-peer learning.

A very engaged cohort resulted in business partner agreements, long-term friendships & strong network besides a number of vastly improved businesses with clear roadmaps for growth.
