3 countries in 3 days: A Virtual Delegation Tour to develop the Senegalese Ecosystem
What a journey!
We successfully completed Module III of our Program Designer’s Lab (PDL) Senegal, an exceptional hybrid Bootcamp, which included a virtual tour of 3 international startup ecosystems! The Participants tuned in from Dakar, Senegal to gain insights into 3 major startup ecosystems around the world and develop their own capacities for supporting entrepreneurs. The schedule ranged from Mentoring sessions, Experience & knowledge sharing sessions and online and offline team building activities!
The Bootcamp also offered a touchpoint between our Alumni from Train the Mentor Senegal program and our PDL participants.
Highlights from the virtual ecosystem tours:
- Day 1 from Kigali, Rwanda, we were pleased to have the African German Entrepreneurship Academy represented by BISMARK AGYEI YEBOAH and to have the African ecosystem expert Tristen Muller.
- Day 2 from Tunis, Tunisia, our guests were Flat6labs Tunisia represented by the great Faten Aissi, associate director, and Open Startup Tunisia represented by its inspiring CEO Houda Ghozzi.
- Day 3 live from Berlin, Germany we were joined by LEONIE ALPHEUS and SARAH SCHECK, two wonderful project managers at Young Entrepreneurs in Science, an initiative supported by Falling Walls.
All of our guests shared their insights and experience of the process to create well-developed incubation & acceleration programs as well as the challenges and learnings they have in their ecosystems.
Through the program, the 20 participants have developed 4 projects that will promote and support women entrepreneurship in Renewable Energy/Energy Efficiency within the incubation centers of their universities.
Congratulations to our PDL Senegal participants for finishing the final module of the program successfully and for their resilience, hard work and engagement despite the restrictions and challenges caused by the pandemic.
Next up, the final step of the PDL Senegal will take place in the form of a conference in Dakar later this month.
