The AU Digital & Innovation Fellowship is currently seeking junior to mid-level professionals for 12 specialized technical tracks. Select the fellowship position that best aligns with your technical expertise and career goals.

Data Analytics & Monitoring Systems Fellow

This position strengthens data-driven decision-making within the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW). As a fellow, you will support the Water and Sanitation Sector Monitoring (WASSMO) System by enhancing data collection, analysis, and reporting processes. The role involves developing dashboards, improving monitoring frameworks, and advising on system enhancements to ensure high-quality reporting and sustainable institutional capacity in water and sanitation governance across Africa.

Digital Product & Programme Systems Fellow

This position strengthens institutional alignment and digital collaboration within the AUDA-NEPAD Coordination Unit to drive continental development. As a fellow, you will maintain and optimize digital collaboration tools to enhance synergy across major AU portfolio programs such as PIDA, SIFA, and CAADP. As a fellow, you will build interactive portals and custom APIs to eliminate data silos and enable real-time monitoring of continental initiatives. The role focuses on automating workflows and institutionalizing technical knowledge to ensure a sustainable, evidence-based digital architecture.

Applications are now closed.

The highest-ranked applicants will be invited for a 30-minute interview with representatives from the respective AU department. Interviews will be held from the 16th to the 19th of March. Please note that we offer you one time slot for the interview and rescheduling is only possible in exceptional circumstances.

The results of the selection process will be shared the last week of March 2026. The selected fellow will then be asked to sign a fellowship agreement with enpact, as well as a secondment contract with the AU. The fellowship will begin on April 1st.

The AU Digital & Innovation Fellowship 2026/2027 is developed and hosted by the African Union, and is implemented by enpact with the support of the GIZ DataCipation program, which is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
