Berlin Landing Pad Program

About the Berlin Landing Pad program

The Berlin Landing Pad program was initially first piloted in 2021 with two consecutive cohorts as an intensive 8-weeks remote program. The pilot programs supported 17 founders across Asia through equipping them with the right tools, guidance and network to prepare to expand their businesses internationally, with Berlin as the gateway to the European Market.

Through the pilot programs, the founders worked closely with mentors and experts in the Berlin ecosystem to grow their businesses. Soumita Basu, Founder of Zyenika fashion – an inclusive fashion brand – connected with brands in the European market to partner with.  Rudy Hertanto, Founder of the upcycling brand Patémar, worked closely with his mentor to develop a strategic roadmap for scaling and growing their network.

After taking in the learnings and experience from the first two programs, the Berlin Landing Pad was developed into a three-month hybrid program that takes place both remotely and in Berlin, and launched in 2022. It aims to support collaborations and partnerships across entrepreneurial ecosystems internationally, and is designed to encourage businesses from around the world to engage with the ecosystem in Europe. The main focus is on market entry and business set-up, alongside creating connections with potential partners, investors, and customers within the Berlin startup ecosystem.

The first edition of the program supported a cohort of Asian Software-as-A-Service (SaaS) startups on their international expansion from August to October 2022. The second edition focuses on Green, Clean, and Climate Tech startups and scaleups and took place in the January to March 2023. The third edition of the program supported Web3.0.
