What is Just Transition through Entrepreneurship?

Just Transition through Entrepreneurship is a project that aims to support Ukraine’s green recovery and just transition in the face of structural changes, economic challenges, and war-induced disruptions by providing holistic support for aspiring entrepreneurs, existing entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurial support organizations. The project includes four tracks, open for aspiring entrepreneurs, established entrepreneurs, business support organizations and entrepreneurship ecosystem stakeholders. 

This track supports aspiring entrepreneurs with ideas directly and indirectly related to the coal mining sector. By taking part in this track, they will have the chance to develop their business ideas through three months of training, network development and access to in-kind budget and learning resources.

 

What type of support does the project provide?


Developing a basic business model

based on your idea over the duration of three month.

Access to an in-kind budget of up to 2,000 EUR

in service vouchers to develop your business.

Regular training sessions on entrepreneurial skills

including customer research, idea validation and value proposition.

Networking events and touchpoints

with German, European, and Ukrainian industry experts from different sectors.

Public demo day

to have the chance to pitch your idea and build the know-how to qualify for potential incubation programs by enpact or local partners.

Support community

of entrepreneurs across different sectors and levels of expertise where you can connect and exchange knowledge and resources.

How does it work?

Take a look through the steps to find out what to expect from the application process and how to prepare.

    Review eligibility and selection criteria

    Download and carefully review the eligibility and selection criteria document to familiarize yourself with the program requirements.  Prepare an overview of your idea, if you already have one, in advance to save time.

    Sign up on SM Apply

    Follow the link to the application and create an account on SurveyMonkey Apply (SM Apply), our applications platform. You can sign up in English or Ukrainian. Once you have an account, you will see the option to “Apply” for this track. If you need support with the platform or the application form, please feel free to reach out to justtransition@enpact.org.

    Fill out the application form

    Once you click on “Apply”, you will be asked to share basic information about yourself, your idea (if you already have one) and your team (if you have one, if not, you can indicate that you are looking for team members). If you apply with one or two team members, you will be asked to enter their names and email addresses. They will then receive an automatic invitation via email to create an SM Apply account and contribute to the joint team application. This application form is to find out if you are eligible for the program, and should not take more than 10 minutes.

    Take part in the Idea Marathon 

    If you are eligible for participation in the track, you will receive an invitation within one week of submitting your application to join the Idea Marathon in July 2024. You will then have the chance to develop your problem statement, receive feedback on your idea and form your team.

    Submit your refined idea 

    Once you complete the idea marathon, you can submit your refined idea with your team for a chance to join the pre-incubator program. Your idea will be assessed based on the selection criteria of the program.

    Keep an eye on your e-mail!

    The selection process will take around three weeks in total. You will hear from us by the end of July. The e-mail will notify you in case you are accepted, or share feedback in case we are unable to accommodate you in the program. Please also check your spam folder. 

Who is eligible to apply?


We encourage you to apply for the Ideas Track if:

  • You are at least 18 years old and legally allowed to work in Ukraine,
  • You are residing in one of the target regions (Volodymyr and Lutsk Raions in Volyn Oblast or Chervonohrad, Lviv and Zolochiv Raions in Lviv Oblast),
  • You will commit to developing your idea into a marketable product or service that can contribute to creating an impact and promote sustainability and recovery,
  • You already have a team or are willing to work in a team of 2-3 people to develop your idea.

As part of our commitment to advancing equity and sustainable development: Women, Internally Displaced People, and individuals under the age of 26 are given priority in the selection process.
